Version 1.0 of the Recruit Georgia ILB Position Rankings starts off as a Top Five. Inside backers are the guys that have the strength and girth to bounce around the tackle box and stuff the running game. It’s possible some of these young men could double as outside linebackers.

Grayson had a magical season going (14-1) and capturing a State Championship in Georgia’s largest classification. Holding down the middle of the defense is Solomon Egbe. As a junior he led the Rams in solo stops with 67. Egbe starts the year off at #1.

Tre Leslie led Tucker in tackles this past season with 82 stops. His effort helped guide the Tigers to an appearance in the GHSA-AAAAAA State Championship Game.

Coming in at #3 is Antonio Grier, Jr. of Mays High School. Through the first eight games of the season Grier recorded 47 tackles, four TFL’s, two sacks and three fumble recoveries. His efforts did go unnoticed earning Honorable Mention All-State by the AJC.

Decatur may have had a bad season on the field, but they were not without a standout performer. Two-way star Jake Broom was named First Team All-Region and All-County. He also doubles as a fullback and the punter for the Bulldogs.

Kam Futch of Brunswick is the final member of the ILB group. This past season he was second on the team in tackles with 61 knockdowns. He also racked up six TFL’s, three sacks and one INT.
