2018 Athlete Rankings Version 1.0

Version 1.0 of the Recruit Georgia Athlete Position Rankings starts off as a Top Ten. Most of these prospects fall under the athlete category because they either project at several positions or they excel as return specialist.

Starting off in the top spot is Kyler McMichael of Greater Atlanta Christian. As a junior he carried the ball 222 times for 1,493 yards and 16 touchdowns. McMichael also caught 14 passes for 214 yards and one score. His efforts have grabbed the attention of college coaches; hauling in double digit offers. He was honored as AAA Honorable Mention All-State by the AJC.

James Graham has been one of the most prolific football players in all of South Georgia the last two seasons. In 2016 he accounted for 2,681 yards of offense and 39 touchdowns while leading Fitzgerald to their second straight trip to the GHSA AA State Championship Game. Graham was honored as AA First Team All-State by Recruit Georgia and Honorable Mention All-State by the AJC. He currently has ten FBS offers.

One of the best return specialists in the state is Israel Spivey of Cedar Grove. He also doubles as a slot receiver snagging 17 passes for 207 yards and four scores. Spivey played a key role in guiding the Saints to the GHSA AAA State Championship. He currently has a handful of FBS offers.

Coming in at #4 is Montreil Harris of Fitzgerald. Offensively he touched the ball 53 times for 610 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 49 yards a kick return and brought back three the distance. Harris also possesses the length to project as a safety and that has led to four early offers.

Jaquavius Lane may have had one of the most spectacular performances in the State Championship Series held at the Georgia Dome in December. In the GHSA AAAAAAA Title Tilt he caught four passes for 115 yards and two scores in leading Grayson to the Championship. He could project as a corner, slot or return man in college. Lane is just starting to pick up steam on the recruiting trail.

Rounding out the Top Six is another State Champion. Tyleek Collins of Benedictine racked up 1,421 all-purpose yards. He ran for 990 yards on 102 carries while catching ten passes for 168 yards. Collins also returned a punt and a kick for scores. Similar to Lane, Collins is just beginning to pick up steam on the recruiting front.

Future Recruit Georgia Position Ranking still to come is ILB.

Glad to see that James Graham made tHis list. You had us to do all of that voting for AA player of the year, that JD won, but you never posted the reward……not cool Mr. Dewalt.
