Will Hallmark put together a strong junior campaign that has caught the eye of several college programs from around the area. The rising senior is on the precipice of his recruitment breaking out here, at least that’s my prognostication, so his father broke down where his recruitment is at real quick.
“Will is just now getting into the recruiting process, schools are starting to reach out for potential visits and camps. We have not nailed down anything just yet.”
Hallmark is an elusive open field runner with the ability to read the defender in 1v1 situations and escape out of the tackle using his natural lateral quickness. His ability to operate in space has the attention of several FCS programs especially.
“Westminster has a recruiting coordinator that is expecting offers to come in from a few FCS schools in the next few weeks and some potential interest from some of D1 school for possible scholarships or preferred walk-on situations,” Mike Hallmark said.
The first team All-Region running back for Westminster is a strong student sporting a 3.3 GPA and his 30 on the ACT is even more impressive. This offseason he has been working with a personal trainer on speed and agility. At our Recruit Georgia combine in Gwinnett Hallmark tested out in the upper echelon of athletes scoring a 4.33 shuttle time and a 7.31 L-Drill.
Watching film from last year, and first thing that stands out his natural low pad level. The 2020 running back is a savvy player, he does a nice job of reading his blocks, makes good cutbacks against the grain and shows a nice burst right when he gets the football. That low pad level and constant churning of his feet allows for him to get tough yardage, and a good reason why Hallmark projects so well as an all-purpose back at the next level.
