Weekend Recap 7/31 – 8/2

North East Georgia Recruits is back at it again, this time highlighting QB Joey Mancuso, who received the #19 ranking in their “Terrific 22.” This past season, Joey was one of the top signal-callers in Georgia. He boasted a 132 QBR, while passing for 35 touchdowns, 3081 yards and completing 62 percent of his passes. Joey is a rising Senior and this season will be another chance to prove he is a top-class quarterback in state.

Prince Avenue Christian’s Kevon Hudson came in at #18 in the “Terrific 22. He is a strong back who sheds would-be tacklers and is capable of taking the rock to the house on any given play.

Mizzou commit Christian Holmes encouraged Recruit Georgia followers to follow your dreams and never give up with his motivational tweet that he posted on Saturday. His determination to be great is proof that hard work remains undefeated – keep grinding and believe in yourself!

Kentucky commit and Archer nose tackle, Kobe Smith, will be playing in the Semper Fidelis All-American Game after this season.

Southern Pigskin.com tweeted about sleeper-recruit Brandon McMaster from Camden County. Watch the “BEAST” film HERE.

D’Vonn Gibbons was brought to our attention a few weeks and after watching his film and twitter videos confirm that he is an athlete to keep an eye on. He needs to refine his mechanics but he will certainly get enough reps this fall, when he is expected to be the starting quarterback. He is a great athlete who is dangerous in open field.  

Offensive Coordinator Travis Smith of Langston Hughes reported that 2017 DB Josh Brown was visiting South Carolina.  

Archer’s Kyle Davis did some work in the community over the weekend. His devotion to the Archer community was enthusiastically explained in a tweet, ”Honestly, I love the Archer community, they’ve been with us through the worst. It’s about time to give back to them.”    

 

 

Joshua Moran received an offer from the Air Force Academy. Countless schools from across the nation continue to show interest in him. Pass-happy schools like California and Southern Methodist have offered the multi-talented WR from Milton High School.

The offers just keep rolling in for elite corner Christian “King” Tutt. Mississippi State offered Thomson, Georgia’s young athlete over the weekend.

Elbert County athlete Mecole Hardman clarified on twitter that he did not “silent” commit on his weekend visit to Georgia. Most pundits believe that Mecole is in the midst of a Tennessee/UGA battle.

Newton Co.’s Kurt Taylor attended the Michigan BBQ at the Big House. Michigan Coach Chris Partidge looks to be handling his recruitment. Kurt is one of the top 2017 running backs in the state and is receiving interest from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Tennessee  and many more.  

Donta Evans II, a big-time linebacker out of Archer High School, made his commitment to Ole Miss. Another Power 5 conference team landing another Archer football player…      

 

 

Kennesaw State landed another offensive line commit over the weekend. Walton High School’s Evan Forrest made it official committing to the Owls and Brian Bohannon’s spread triple option offense. Evan is a good run blocker and fits the mold of what the Owls want in an offensive lineman. He projects to be a smash-mouth run blocking hog molly.

Norcross starting QB Baron Radcliff continued his tour of Big 10 country with a visit to Ohio State.
