Stanley a Standout Sophomore

Bleckley County went toe-to-toe with Class A DII’s #1 ranked Schley County last week where they ultimately loss a tough one 48-42 in overtime. In that game, Joshua Stanley certainly made his impact. On one play, he took a handoff around midfield and then proceeded to make several defenders miss en route to a score.

As you can see, the sophomore is a tremendous athlete who can make hard cuts and take on contact without losing his balance. At 6′ and 170 lbs., Stanley already has some good varsity experience where he was an impact player starting as a freshman a year ago. Those highlights are at the top of the article and consist of him mostly playing defense.

Though we do not have 2023 film just yet, Stanley has rushed for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns, and you can find clips throughout his Twitter/X page showcasing his impact speed on offense. Couple that with his solid frame, and you have the making for one of the better running backs in the class of ’26.

Stanley is clearly an ace for the Bleckley County offensive attack where his good vertical speed on top of his physicality are difference makers. The sophomore runs a 10.9 100m and that should only continue to improve as he fills out his frame. His weightlifting numbers are well-advanced for a sophomore, and it is clear that the 2026 recruit will attract some FBS interest before it is all said and done.

As of now, Bleckley County is widely considered a top 10 team in Class A Division I. Stanley is sure to be a key ingredient to their success this season, and in time, we think his recruitment will follow, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on the dynamic sophomore and players all across the state.
