South Georgia Football – On the Hoof

article contributed by football analyst Barry Every

South Georgia is known for producing some of the most talented players in the country. Players such as Champ Bailey, Mel Blount, Thomas Davis, Charles Grant, Charles Johnson, Leodis McKelvin, Raekwon McMillan, Marcus Stroud and Demaryius Thomas all hail from South of the gnat-line.

Below are some of the top athletes on the hoof I have evaluated this year. Some of these prospects are household names on the recruiting trail like BigCat Bryant, Nate McBride and Aubrey Solomon. While others such as Keelan Crosby, Meaty Davis, Mark Robinson and Tramel Walthour have yet to breakthrough on the recruiting front.

I challenge college recruiters at the FBS and FCS level to physically evaluate some of these athletes whether they are committed or have yet to receive their first offer. Also take a look at what they have accomplished on the gridiron for their respective schools this season.
Players are listed in alphabetical order by last name & their HUDL profiles are linked to their name.

  1. Amari Cross #69 Glynn Academy 52 pancakes on the season. Open holes for DJ Dallas and his cousin Kendall Cross who led the terros in rushing yards.
