Sophomore Zanders Stands Out

Telfair County’s Christon Zanders was named our top offensive lineman of Week 8. The powerful 6’2″ 285 lbs. two-way lineman for Telfair County has been a huge part of their undefeated season so far.

Telfair County is playing some of its best football in years and the sophomore seems excited about how the season has developed.

“My sophomore season is going great and my team is currently 6-0 and I have a total of 18 pancakes and an average offensive line grade of 83,” Zanders said.

Zanders has been excelling both on the field and in the classroom. The honors student is currently ranked the #4 student in his grade at Telfair County

His willingness to learn also spreads to the football field where he is constantly focused on improving each week.  That is never more apparent than just watching his freshman film and now his sophomore.

The big Telfair County offensive lineman is a lot more aggressive at the point of attack and is finishing off his blocks demonstrably. As he continues to develop, Zanders has all of the makings to be a dominating run-blocking offensive guard. That said, you have to be encouraged by the good lateral quickness the 2026 lineman shows while playing RT, and he has a lot of good upside as a pass blocker.

Zanders skill set and size on top of the excellent grades should make him a very attractive D1 prospect over the next few years. We are excited to see the big dude continue to improve his game and become one of the top offensive linemen in all of Class A, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X for more updates on Zanders and players everywhere in Georgia.
