Sleeper of the Day
Chayden Barber
2025 Perry
Defensive Lineman
Barber has impressive athleticism with a reported 38″ vertical jump, a 4.75 40 time, and a 375 lbs. bench press, which are some elite numbers for a defensive tackle. At 6′ and 240 lbs., you wouldn’t expect metrics like that but suggests that Barber has good upside at the college level. Barber has a lightning-quick first step, and equally fast hands getting off blocks. You have to like the energy and tenacity that Barber shows at the point of attack. He gets underneath the pads of the offensive lineman and is just too quick and powerful. What I like about Barber’s film is the fact the is making these plays against good-sized offensive linemen, who are probably 40-50 lbs. heavier than him. Barber’s dominance in the middle creates a lot of negative plays for Perry. The senior has gained about 15 lbs. over the last year, but at 240, that does create a question on where he will line up at the college level. How Barber continues to fill out, and where he lines up at colleges is the big question. While having great strength and quickness, Barber might run into matchup issues playing D1 football, especially with the length of the game. He will most likely be around 260 at the college level, and considering his elite athleticism, he should overcome a smaller frame and be an impact player, especially on passing downs.
Commitments
Maddox Geralds
2025 Jonesboro
Washington University
The steady linebacker was All-State HM as a junior with a great season totaling 130 tackles and 14 tackles for a loss. Geralds is a great student with a 4.0 GPA, which translates to the field with a great football IQ and ability to digest the play. Geralds is an excellent student-athlete who is the beating heart of the Jonesboro defense.

Three ‘n Out
I’m always looking for statistical anomalies, and when you see a 6’4″ 200 lbs. receiver in 3 games have 15 catches for 389 yards and 4 touchdowns, then it should get your attention. The two-sport athlete’s name is Chris Hutchinson, and he is a senior receiver at Alexander. With a long-running stride that tops out at 20.3 MPH, Hutchinson is both a vertical threat, but also a receiver who can run routes over the middle, utilizing his huge frame to become a target.

Xavier Rucker might just be the best athlete in the state. Just yesterday, Rucker did a running vertical jump of 49.3″, which would put the 2026 athlete in the top percentile of HS football players in the country. Rucker also runs a max speed of 22 MPH. The junior is 5’11” and 180 lbs. No junior film from Rucker yet on Hudl, but he was named Cobb County Athlete of the Week in Week 4, suffice it to say, the season is going well. Georgia Southern is his lone offer as of now, but certainly, colleges’ interest will skyrocket in the coming weeks and months.
This kid is ridiculous. @XavierRucker8 ran a 22 MPH fly10 yesterday and jumped 49.3 inches today. @DashrMPS @SkyhookJumpMat #EAT #DataDrivenClassroom pic.twitter.com/6ii6yk59kq

Bryian Duncan is someone we have showcased several times in the last few weeks on the website, and rightfully so. The sophomore is currently leading all sophomores in the country in rushing yards and is currently 4th in the state with 754 yards and 11 touchdowns. Duncan broke the school’s single-game rushing record a few weeks back with a 300-yard game. Last week, was another 224 yards. Cairo is now 2-2 on the season, and the common denominator from their wins, Duncan runs for a ton of yards. Seems like that trend is likely to repeat.
