Recruiting Recap 8/7

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! Thanks again for stopping by, and those who are new here this is a feature where we recap, to our best ability, all the recruiting happenings across the state of Georgia. We tally up all of the offers and commitments plus do a sleeper of the day.

We are continuing to publish our Preseason All-State teams. Please be sure to checkout 4-A’s tonight, but click HERE if you want to see the first 4 that have been published.

Outside of that, I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! Lately, I have noticed the active cases in the state is trending down, so that is encouraging! Colleges, please contact us at recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com if you want more detailed recruiting analysis, but we also have tons of public content here on the site.

Commitment

Antario Brown
2021 Beach
South Carolina

Scoop: When you watch Brown it’s hard not to get shades of Jonathan Dwyer, the Kell standout who went on to be ACC Offensive Player of the Year at Georgia Tech. He’s got an elite blend of speed and size that just cannot be found in your regular high school back. No doubt, at 215 lbs. and a sub-4.5 40 time, Brown is built like a college-ready back, and we think he can get early snaps for the Gamecocks. We fully expect the senior to have a successful career in the SEC. Great pick-up for South Carolina, they had to beat out several P5 programs in order to get his services. At the moment, South Carolina is pulling Georgia recruits better than any out of state program in the country.

Sleeper of the Day

Amari Little
2021 Grady

There is little recruiting attention right now for the 2021 outside defender who seems to spend most of his time at DE. He has solid length and uses that to get off blocks quickly. Little definitely stands out with his long limbs on the field – we like his 6’3″ frame and upside to be around 250 in college. Needs a lot of work in the weight lifting department, seems to take very high tackle attempts too. He’s a good athlete for sure, and seeing his film against Woodward Academy you come away with better upside than his earlier season film from 2019. He looks to have legit upside as a pass rusher with how long his arms are and his quickness of the ball. He even does a nice job of dipping his shoulder when he speed rushes off the edge to get around the OT. Definitely worth checking out his film, and he could take a nice jump going into his senior year considering his frame and general athleticism.
