Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to start off the week on the right foot – I know we are!
After much talk, the beginning of our All-State teams will be posted tonight, and we’ll try to get a new team up for the remainder of the week. Expect team rankings for each classification on the way too.
Preseason content aside, there is still a lot of cloud going into this season. These are the fact: numbers are up to an all-time high in the state, but we still have time to get them down. Everyone needs to take this seriously. We need to avoid disasters like what happened last week with Johns Creek DL/LB Justin Hunter’s parents who both passed away from Covid-19. That was tragic news, and We are heartbroken to hear about it, but uplifted by the support that our community here in Georgia has shown for Justin. There is a GoFundMe for Justin, please follow the link HERE.
Now checkout our recap down below. We got our normal feature with offers, commitments and a sleeper of the day. Should be good info, so scroll on down below, and recruit Georgia! – David

Jalen Garner
2021 Norcross
Houston
Scoop: Garner is one of the top linebackers in the state of Georgia despite being a little undersized. He was a tackling machine last year with over 150 on the season. The 2021 recruit sees the field so well, and is explosive to the football. Expecting an even bigger season this fall for the 2021 recruit, definitely an awesome pickup for the Cougers who had to beat out a slew of FBS programs.
Cameron Bergeron
2021 Westover
Duke
Scoop: Bergeron is a very good student, so right off the bat we see the fit with Duke. Sporting almost a 4.0 GPA, the savvy cornerback prospect is a long athlete and has good acceleration breaking on the football. He has the potential to be a multi-year starter for the Blue Devils.
Terrance Lewis
2021 Glynn Acd.
Louisville
Scoop: Lewis is an explosive athlete with outstanding size. We are not 100% sure if Louisville took him as a quarterback or not, but the pure playmaking ability of the 2021 recruit is undeniable. His long running gait at 6’4″ allows for him rip off big chunks of yardage.
Tre’Von Marshall
2021 Community Christian
Miss State
Scoop: Marshall’s recruitment was a little to slow to take off with only smaller schools in pursuit, but that all changed this summer. The 2021 recruit has some legit upside as a pass-rusher at the next level, he is around 6’4″ and just beginning to fill out his frame. We suspect a redshirt year would benefit the 2021 recruit, especially in the weightroom, but the upside here is apparent.

Sleeper of the Day
Jared Rumph
2021 Alpharetta
Rumph is another springy long cornerback out of Alpharetta. He has above average acceleration and does a pretty nice job of playing the football up top. Uses hands well to redirect the receiver. Got a lot of reps last year, he is set for a nice senior year here. Needs to work on getting lighter with his backpedal. Pretty good in press coverage. Reactive feet to the receiver, but needs more work getting stronger in the lower body. Considering his size, Rumph could be a good candidate to play safety at the next level. He is pretty physical getting off blocks and seems to have a nose for the ball playing the run. Tackling form needs to continue to improve – he wraps up high and doesn’t drop hips before making an attempt. Takes solid pursuit angles, sees the field well in general. Overall, Rumph shows a lot of promise. He has a nice frame at 6’1″, and versatile body type to play boundary corner or safety – just needs to continue to sharpen up his skill set. Definitely a senior we have on watch.
