Speaking of content and this weekend. We have a few stories to share this weekend from our south Georgia contributor. Preseason All-State teams will start to release this weekend too, so be on the lookout for that, and we are also still playing in the puddles with our 2022 & 2023 rankings.

Scoop: LaFrance had a good junior year spreading the ball around for over 2k yards. He does a great job of reading the defense and is extremely accurate, especially in the redzone where he is adept at placing the ball right on the sideline for only his receiver to catch. Great student with over a 4.0.
Corey Barnes
2021 Mundy’s Mill
Liberty
Scoop: Probably one of the fastest players in the entire class of 2021, we think that Barnes was heavily slept on during the process. This is another great get for Liberty, I believe their 4 commit now here in July in the Peach State. Barnes has potential to play on either side of the ball, we just like his speed on the offensive end, but there is a fair argument to play him at CB at the next level.
Anthony Ferguson
2021 Troup Co.
Kennesaw
Scoop: One of the quicker slot backs here in the state of Georgia, and well over 3k yards rushing on his career so far. Now at Troup, we expect Ferguson to get a whole lot of action at both RB, but also some receiver. He is explosive, but also impressed with his balance.
Cade Anders
2021 Tift Co.
Army
Scoop: Anders really could play a number of positions at the next level. At nearly 6’4″ and 240 lbs.,, the versatile player could have an impact on either side of the ball. Being the son of the Tift head coach, Cade is a high IQ football player, but also a good student in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA.
Kriston Esnard

Scoop: One of the best kickers in the state here, Esnard shows power from over 50 yards but also the consistency to knock inside the goal posts. He was starting to get more college interest per his older brother that we talked with, but Tulane offered a lot of what they were looking for in a school.
Tanner Bivins

Army
Scoop: Bivins was the cornerstone of the OL last year for the Class A state runner-ups. He is a tough football player, playing on both sides of the football and figures to be one of the top center prospects here in the state. Bivins plays ironman football and also spars on the defensive side of the ball too. Definitely think the big man is set to have a strong college career for Army, nice pickup on a player who had a lot of college offers over the last year.
Cole Nelson
2021 Johns Creek
Virginia Tech
Scoop: The sack-artist has been in the lab all offseason with one of the top DL trainers here in Georgia, Marcus Howard. Nelson stands 6’3″ and 240 lbs., he is very quick coming off the edge and with the added pass-rush moves this fall he is set for a big senior year and beyond. Fully expect Nelson to get double digit sacks here in 2020, and to a problem at the next level for Virginia Tech.
JJ Hawkins

Ole Miss
Scoop: Hawkins just committed to Ole Miss just minutes ago, and this is definitely a good one for the Rebels. The 2021 pass-rusher is another Marcus Howard trainee, and has put on some great weight this last year now over 240 lbs. Hawkins is one of the best pass-rushers in the state, he is relentless getting into the backfield. Love his upside at the next level to be an All-Conference level pass-rusher in the SEC.

We wrote about Allen earlier this offseason predicting that he would continue to see P5 offers in early May. He received a spurt of offers during that span, and watching his offseason videos we were more than impressed with how he is filling out into his frame. The long armed corner has had a great two weeks here in recruiting with Iowa, Louisville, VT, UGA, Tenn, Rutgers, Virginia, Ole Miss, and Miss State offering. Making 2nd team All-Region in 2019, Allen looks to continue to garner accolades this fall along with additional FBS offers.

Amari Wharwood
2021 Alexander
Wharwood plays with reckless abandon, and shows nice quick reactive feet to the football. He gets downhill with excellent explosion into his first step. Very good acceleration. Really gets into the tackle box quickly and dives low on his tackle attempts. He gets a lot of momentum when making a tackle, spearing the ball carrier to the ground. Does lead with his crown sometimes, and would like to see him drop his hips and try to keep his head up when making a tackle. Definitely a big hitter though, and does drive legs well when making a profile tackle. The amount of ground that he covers is impressive, and though he doesn’t have a ton of plays in pass coverage, he shows the speed to cover both sidelines. He is more of a SS recruit, claims to be around 190 lbs. now going into his senior year. We expect him to be at 200 lbs. in college. Convince that more D1 schools will offer this fall, but right now he is sitting with offers from Shorter, Lenoir-Rhyne, Samford and Wingate.
