Recruiting Recap 8/13

Welcome to another Recruiting Recap! Yeah, I know it’s late in the day for a recap from yesterday, I’ve been trying to fix some minor issues on the backend of the website that has slowed down some of my work time. Not a whole lot got accomplished outside of my continued humility as webmaster of this site.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by. For those who are new, this recap sums up all of yesterday’s offers, any recent commitments, and our sleeper of the day!

Outside of that, the GHSA announced that we are continuing the September 4th start, but emphasized that they will be monitoring the data and maintaining a fluid schedule. We also announced our team pages last night, and we already have 3 more schools on board, and another handful who have shown interest. I think by the end of the week we could have up to 10 team pages, so that is exciting as we continue our efforts to add value to the state of Georgia’s recruiting process.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! Mask up! – David

Sleeper of the Day

Courtney Slocum
2021 Adairsville

Slocum has decent size already at 6′, with an angular body type that he is slowing filled out into over the last year. Once he strides out Slocum can cover some space. The 2021 recruit has a good frame, looks to have wide shoulders and should be over 200 lbs. by the time he is ready in college. The senior has added about 10-15 lbs in the last year here, which is very good progress. To me, Slocum looks like a SS. Slocum has solid weight lifting numbers, and good body composition, but would like to see him accelerate to the ball carrier. He can be effective in coverage, but again acceleration could be better. Slocum has primarily lined up at SS, he’s been playing since his sophomore year. Right now he holds D1 offers from Bucknell and Marist. He has good grades with a 3.4 GPA and a 1080 SAT too. Definitely think he deserves more looks here, Slocum has the size and football instincts to be a good SS at the next level.
