Commitments

Jack Nickel
2022 Milton
Notre Dame

Scoop: Notre Dame comes in again landing one of the top TE’s (hello Cane Berrong and Tommy Tremble) not just in Georgia but the entire country in Nickel. The 2022 pass-catcher has been playing on the varsity since his freshman year. Nickel’s route running is advanced for his age. He is exceptionally good on short to intermediate routes, and also shows the size to be a proficient blocker at the next level at 6’4″ 235 lbs. Nickel is a matchup nightmare and is moved around the field a good bit to exploit the defense. He is physical after the catch breaking tackles and carrying defenders for extra yardage. Nickle is another great tight end pick-up for Notre Dame.

Heating Up

Noah Jones
2021 Cairo

Cairo always seems to be loaded up with special teams talent, Jones is once again holding to tradition as one of the top specialist in the country. His recruiting momentum has really caught on here in the last few weeks. UGA came in with a PWO, but he has also received recent scholarships from San Diego State and Arizona. Jones also holds offers from Army, Navy and Air Force too. His recruitment is really starting to heat up here – expect more FBS programs jumping on board soon.

Sleeper of the Day

Jackson Hodge
2021 Thomasville

Hodge has a really good looking frame at 6’3″. Nice wide hips and shoulders. At 279.8 lbs. he should fill out very nicely, and be around 300 lbs. at one of the interior OL positions. Pretty good run blocker, Hodge keeping a pretty flat back. Does a nice job of getting leverage then driving his legs through the block. Definitely solid fundamentals. Would like to see him be stronger at the point attack, I think some of that has to do with body control. Plays with some fire, but needs to maintain focus throughout the play. Has okay strength repping 185 lbs. 12 times and solid length with a 6’4″ wing span. Needs to get more flexible in the hips. Definitely got some big time upside as a run blocker and we really like his fundamentals that are in place. Hodge received his first offer back in April from Mizzou State. We have Hodge projected as an FCS athlete, but can see regional programs across multiple levels taking an interest in the promising young blocker.
