Sleeper of the Day
Kyler Giddens
2025 Prince Avenue
Outside Linebacker
Giddens was one of the state’s leading tacklers with 159 total on the season including 14 of those for a loss. The State Champion linebacker was an AJC All-State player. Giddens is a high-impact defender who lines up all over the field but is primarily on the edge. He is lightning quick, showing reactive feet as he closes on the ball carrier. Really like how he settles into his tackle attempts and closes the gap. Giddens does a great job of squaring up his pads, showing explosive hips resulting in massive tackles. Great motor coming from the backside and you can really appreciate his excellent top-end speed. Giddens’ acceleration and agility allow him to shoot the gaps and create a lot of chaos when lined up in the middle. Not sure he has the frame to weigh too much in college; can see Giddens around 220 lbs. or so. Weightlifting numbers suggest there is room to grow. He has a lot of versatility at the next level. Spending more time this offseason to become more proficient against the pass while he continues to bulk up should be a top priority for Giddens. No doubt, Giddens is a high-IQ football player who plays with the intensity that you look for in D1 football players. He is a true competitor, even winning a state title in baseball his junior year too, and will prove to be one of the top linebackers in 2A this fall.

Deuce Recruiting’s Austin Butler highlighted Marquez Elston, an emerging class of 2026 edge rusher from Rome. Elston is 6’4″ and 205 lbs., just switching over to football, it seems. He definitely looks like ‘A Name to Know’.
My names to know!

Max Brown is a rising sophomore looking build off his stellar freshman year where he totaled 43 tackle and 1 sack season. Brown was named a FBU Freshman All-American for his efforts. The 6′ 210 lbs. linebacker prospect is a workout warrior, and down below you can see Brown squat 375 with great depth and relative ease. Brown is already a national recruit with recent offers from Tennessee, Ohio State, West Virginia, etc.

Offseason summer camps are coming to a close, and Archer’s highlight video does a great job of illustrating that midsummer offseason vibe. The Tigers finished 5-6 season but showed flashes beating Parkview 28-27, which was one of the biggest upsets of 2023 season. They head into the fall returning a lot of talented starters and that underdog mentality continues to permeate. They will leave more teams surprised than just Parkview in 2024.
Summer was a bl🅰️st‼️
