Recruiting Recap 7/2

It’s Thursday, and we are just a few days away from the 4th of July, so I hope everyone has their grilling game ready to go! We have this recap ready, so dive down below to see all of yesterday’s offers, commitments and of course our sleeper of the day.

Of note, the three heating up feature is sideline during the dead week, there is simply not enough recruiting momentum to keep that part of the recap alive at all times.

Outside of that, I hope everyone has been enjoying the week! Be sure to wear a mask and let’s continue to flatten the curve!

Sleeper of the Day

Emmanuel Cannon
2021 South Gwinnett

Cannon plays with urgency showing quick hands getting off blocks. Takes good pursuit angles and has a good feel for where the play is headed. Just tenacious at getting into the backfield. Very well trained getting off his blocks, just needs to continue to get quicker with his hands, but the technique is there. I like his frame, should end up around 270. Swim move is definitely legit, but would like to see his pad level get lower too – would really help him get around his blocks. Cannon needs to get quicker getting out his stance and continue to improve on general lateral quickness. He has a good motor though, has nice leg drive while engaged and does a good job of coming from the weakside to complete a tackle. Has gained good weight since last season and now up to 248 from 230. Definitely on track to become a good sized DE at the next level, worth monitoring how he continues to grow. A strong start to senior year and we think more D1’s will get involved quickly. Cannon currently holds offers from Notre Dame College and The Citadel.
