Recruiting Recap 6/8

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! Football is back here in Georgia, well, at least workouts are taking place. With some form of normalcy returning, at least to some extent, we hope that everyone continues to take the pandemic seriously.

The dead period will go until end of July as of now, so expect a lot of commitments here in the next few weeks. There will be no better place to follow along then here.

Also, if you haven’t read our intern, Michael Faulkner, first ever interview with Collins Hill rising junior Travis Hunter take a quick moment to check it out – LINK

Outside of that, I hope everyone is set for a great week! Three Heating Up

Brandon Adams
2021 Arabia Mt

The 6’3″ two-way athlete for Arabia Mountain projects well as a defensive back at the next level. There are absolutely flashes of P5 upside on his film, and just yesterday Indiana came in with an offer. This is a big jump for Adams, who mostly just had a mixture of D1 offers from G5 and FCS programs. He’s a pretty explosive young athlete, making a few big hits and interceptions in 2019. Continue to keep an eye on the 2021 recruit, there definitely could be an influx of P5 interest here in the month of June.

Jaylen Geter
2022 Newman

Geter’s recruitment is really just starting with Virginia Tech becoming his first ever college offer. The 5’10” safety prospect is pure and simple a football player. His older brother was arguably the best defender on Newman the last few seasons, and Geter will look to take that honor his upcoming junior season. Geter has excellent instincts, he totaled 70 tackles and 11 pass break-ups in 2019. He’s one of the better open field tacklers at the safety spot in the class of 2022, and we suspect the offers will continue to flow the next year here.

Langston White
2021 Cedar Grove

White has been garnering D1 interest going back to the start of 2020. Just in the last week he has earned offers from Colgate, Middle Tennessee and Mizzou State. That’s three in a week, which in our book, puts White’s recruitment in the heating up territory. White split snaps last year, and still managed a very productive season, but going into 2020 he is set for a potential All-State caliber season. The smooth runner with excellent vision has offers from double digit D1 programs at this point, Definitely keep an eye on White here in the coming months, there is definitely an uptick in his recruiting interest here in the last week and momentum should continue with the anticipation of a big senior year.

Sleeper of the Day

Dawson Duncan
2021 Pepperell

Duncan shows very good leg drive and uses his hands really well to get under the defender. The 2021 prospect has strong powerful hands, and is very good at pulling. He has a smaller frame width wise, so thinking that Duncan is a good fit at center. He has a mauler mindset, and got to like how strong he is at the point of attack. He’s pretty quick out of his stance and finishes his blocks at a high rate. He was only at 245 last fall, and already now at 260 lbs. Duncan is progressing well, and his weight lifting numbers are rock solid. He should end up around the 280, maybe low 290’s at the next level. Maintaining his quickness while gaining this weight is key. Seen a few impressive moments here this offseason from Duncan, one being an effortless dunk just messing around, putting his 26″ vert to test, and also measuring out at 6’4″ recently. He received an offer from Gardner Webb over the weekend, and definitely think the 2021 recruit is pretty slept on here. Expect more D1 offers coming in here soon.
