Recruiting Buzz

wallaceKicking off the recap is Kayle “KJ” Wallacea Class of 2019 athlete at The Lovett School. The rising sophomore plays defensive back and wide receiver and runs a reported 4.47 40 time. The 6′, 182-pound Wallace let us know his latest college offers. So far, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn and Central Michigan have offered. Stay tuned this summer; Wallace has been a prospect colleges have been targeting since he was in middle school (8th grade finalist for the Dennis D. Cavin National Youth Player of the Year).

Marist offensive tackle Charlie Clark let us know that he has received recent offers from Gardner-Webb, Charlotte and App State. The athletic run-blocking lineman is nearing double-digit offers at this point.

Robert Cooper, a big nose tackle from South Gwinnett, was offered by Kentucky earlier today. The 6’2″, 330-pound D-lineman was offered recently by Michigan State as well. Prior to his recent offers he announced a top four of Indiana, Florida State, South Carolina and NC State.

Brookwood rising junior Matthew DaShawn Hill is becoming one of the more popular recruits during the month of May. He has received seven offers, and some of the more recent are Auburn, Florida State, Alabama, UNC and Florida. SOPH FILM

East Paulding QB/ATH Dylan Prater is one of the more slept-on players in the state of Georgia. He torched a Lanier defense that was loaded with 4-star talent for a couple of long runs last season (Game Film). Marshall and Kennesaw State have invited him to their prospect camps this summer. Also Presbyterian, Wofford, UT-Chattanooga, Fordham, Lindsey Wilson and Guilford are interested in getting the dual-threat quarterback on campus as well. Some college might try him out at wide receiver.

fieldsHarrison High School Class of ’18 quarterback Justin Fields said that he was offered by App State today. The explosive athlete from West Cobb received his first offer back on May 5th from UNC. The Mountaineers are offer No. 2.

Gainesville OLB prospect Kris Montague landed his first Division I scholarship on May 14th when Stetson offered. He also holds 16 lower-division offers.

Buford cornerback KJ Anderson‘s recruitment is beginning to heat up. Arkansas State, Georgia State, Illinois, Western Carolina and Western Michigan have all offered the physical corner since May 9th. Anderson claims to have a 36″ vertical jump.

Rising junior quarterback Cade Fortin has had a flurry of offers as of late with North Carolina and Arkansas State offering in the last 24 hours. His spring offers started on April 12th with Iowa, and since then he has received seven offers from Power 5 conferences. Watch film from last season HERE.

Memphis and North Carolina offered rising senior Zach Quinney out of Savannah Christian. The angular offensive tackle now has over 20 offers and is being hotly pursued by Georgia Tech, Duke and UNC.

New transfer to Griffin High School Malik Route received offer No. 5 yesterday from West Georgia. The elusive receiver has running back-like acceleration and incredible hands/concentration. He was a Top WR at the MVP camp back on March 13th, and if he were a little bit taller, FBS schools would be all over him. Summer camps will be a pivotal time to change college coaches’ minds.

zR8mhIhTRising senior Ton Evans from Northgate High School was offered by Georgia Southern yesterday. The 5’8″, 175-pound running back also holds offers from Kennesaw State, Mercer and Charleston Southern. Evans had an outstanding junior campaign gaining 1,960 yards on the ground (8.6 ypc) and 24 touchdowns. Evans is powerfully built and displays breakaway speed in the open field. He makes timely cuts without losing much speed and has good all-around balance to shake off poor tackle attempts. FILM

Tavis Brightwell, a new Norcross transfer, was offered by Texas Tech earlier today. The 6′, 200-pound athlete has no film from what we can find. He received his first offer from Kansas back on April 1st.

Lowndes rising junior Tayvonn Kyle was offered earlier today by Southern Miss. Kyle is a speed merchant at wide receiver and has game-breaking speed. We saw him burn some elite defenders and erase more angles then a geometry teacher. SOPH FILM

Rising Cartersville senior Sean Holton is a player to watch this upcoming fall. We would imagine that Ivy League schools would be interested in the 6’1″, 190-pound hybrid OLB/SS, who also holds a 3.84 GPA and 1110 on the SAT. Helton was a turnover machine last fall, wreaking havoc on opposing offenses, and next fall we expect more of the same. JR FILM
