Three Heating Up
Austin Eldred
2021 Walton
Eldred was a sleeper of the day pick almost a month ago now, and his recruitment certainly seems to be picking up. Since the time of writing that RR, Eldred has received offers from Air Force, Bryant, and Eastern Kentucky. That’s a wide range of offers for the Walton defensive back. The 2021 recruit who ended up with 6 interceptions last season will look to continue this recruiting momentum as we enter the summer recruiting period.
Andreas Keaton
2021 Hillgrove
Keaton has seen a major uptick in offers here lately. Just in the last month Western Carolina, The Citadel, New Hampshire, and Austin Peay have offered. The 6’1″ 185 lbs. defensive back is quickly becoming a coveted recruit among FCS programs. Keaton is a solid tackler out in space and looks good in coverage too – I definitely think more D1 programs will bite with offers here. Keep an eye out on Keaton.
JJ Hawkins
2021 Discovery
It took a minute for D1 programs to realize that Hawkins was one of the best pass-rushers in this class. The Discovery rising senior has a huge motor and quick hands getting off blocks. The last several weeks have been fruitful with offers. Hawkins has received ones from Central Michigan, Southern, Georgia Southern, Coastal and NC A&T. The 6’3″ defender has continued to add good weight and is now up to 240 lbs – almost a 20 lbs jump from last fall. Hard to pass-up a player with a motor like Hawkins, and he is set for a big senior year here.
Sleeper of the Day
Justin Luke
2021 Northside-WR
Luke stands out at as an FBS caliber athlete. He has a powerful running stride with an explosive first step. He just flows up field and shows legit acceleration. In a lot of cases he is out running his throw because he is so fast. At 6’1″ and 190 lbs. he has a very impressive frame to work with. He runs a okay routes, doesn’t really sell his fakes too well but his natural ability to change directions still makes a big difference. Love how physical of a blocker he is on the edge. Luke is definitely one of the best spread receivers in the state, he can stretch a defense with outstanding speed but also does a good job of sealing off the edge as a blocker. He is in store a big season if given enough targets. Definitely one of the most slept on receivers in the state of Georgia. The 2021 receiver currently holds no offers, which really means some D1 programs are missing out right now on an easy early offer.
