Three Heating Up
Cameron Bergeron
2021 Westover
The Westover defensive back with excellent grades has seen an uptick in college interest here in the last few weeks. Bergeron has seen offers throughout the last year of his recruitment, but over the last month he has received offers from Duke, Liberty, Air Force, Mizzou, Yale and Cincinnati. Bergeron shows very good acceleration breaking on the football and his 6′ 180 lbs. frame is ideal for the CB position. I can definitely see an upswing in P5 offers here for Bergeron over the next few weeks.
Charlie Patterson
2021 Fellowship Christian
Georgia Tech just offered the other day, which gives Patterson 5 P5 offers to date. Standing at 6’6″ 275 lbs. Patterson is one of the top OT prospects in the entire state of Georgia. He made first team All-State on our site. His upside is really good, and should see his P5 offers double here soon enough. His athletic upside and his size is just too good to pass up here.
Jonathan Martin
2021 Collins Hill
Martin was a player on the radar at the start of the 2019 season, and he definitely showed flashes of talent. At 6’5″ 300 lbs., he is definitely one of the bigger DT prospects here in the state. Both South Alabaman and Troy have offered recently, making them his only FBS offers so far. Martin has FBS upside for sure, and just still scratching the surface of his potential, but we are optimistic. He shows a good motor on film and has been working hard this offseason. Look for more G5 programs to start dropping in offers here shortly.
Sleeper of the Day
Rayne Chuma
2021 East Paulding
Chuma is just a pure football player. He gets reps at CB and RB at East Paulding. He is very quick, changes directions on a dime. Gained 15 lbs. over the last year. Smaller athlete, but very physical and tackling is good too. Chuma has excellent footwork in coverage, he does a very good job of getting inside positioning. He plays low to the ground with excellent pad level. Accelerates very quickly and can hit top speed in just a few steps. Chuma could very well be in store for a huge season his senior year as a RB. Very deceptive runner where his agility is flat out dangerous in space. Chuma is just a good football player and should definitely get D1 interest despite his lack of height. Would like to see him get more runs out on the perimeter, that’s where he will be very effective in college. He must run track too, and curious to see how well he does this spring. You can tell he is very well coached, his dad played in the NFL as a DB, that’s where his excellent schooling is showcased on film, but at the next level his skill set translates best as a running back. Outside of the Carthage offer from the other day, Chuma currently holds no other offer, but the 1st team All-County athlete should absolutely be on D1’s radars.
