RECRUITING BUZZ

Devin Miller, a senior outside linebacker from Lanier HS, announced his final 4 teams. Syracuse, Marshall, Cincinnatti, and South Florida made the cut for the big hitter from Gwinnett. – RG Profile

Auburn landed a big commitment with consensus 4 star Cedar Grove defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson. The Plainsmen beat out Ohio State, Georgia, and Florida for his services. Jackson is 285-pound defensive tackle who was a terror on the field this year. On Twitter he wrote: “After a fun and also stressful recruitng process, my family and I have come to a conclusion.. I’m proud to announce that for my 3-4 years of college I will be a student-athlete at Auburn University.” – FILM

Wake Forest offered J.R. Pace an athlete from Woodward Academy yesterday. Pace, primarily is a free safety, and reacts quickly to the play. He is a big-hitter, and attacks the ball naturally over top in a zone. – FILM

CWdDbBNUkAEploARabun County quarterback Bailey Fisher was announced as the Blitz Sports’ 2015 Player of the Year. Fisher is only a sophomore, but threw for 2936 yards passing, 38 touchdowns, and 67% completion rate. He also had 573 yards rushing and 8 TD’s. Fisher looks cool as a cucumber in the pocket, keeping his feet active and eyes moving. He is an extremely accurate passer and a can’t miss FBS quarterback. – FILM

Zach Maldonado has received a lot of postseason praise. The wide receiver from Hart Co. was named Offensive MVP for his region, All-Region and All-State. He finished the season with 1063 yards on 53 catches. Maldonado was just selected to be in the GACA North-South All Star Game and is the first Hart Co. player to make the team since 2007. – FILM

CWZedpZUsAExy8tChase Brice, one of the top QB’s in Georgia, committed to Clemson yesterday. Brice had visited the Tigers a few times this fall and was their top target in the class of 2017 at quarterback. He joins Baylon Spector from Calhoun, as the early Tiger commits for the class of 2017.

Another elite 2017 quarterback made a recruiting decision, but this time it was a decommitment. Bailey Hockman, the flame-throwing signal caller from McEachern, decided to reopen his recruitment after his mid-summer commitment to UGA. Since his decision, both Michigan and Arizona State have offered. Expect Hockman to become a national recruit due to his amazing raw arm-strength.

Josh White‘s recruitment continues to sizzle. The Walton defensive end is new to the position, but has over 10 offers now. Navy and Furman are the latest colleges to offer the athletic 6’5″ prospect. – RG Profile

kOma3oys_400x400William Tomlin, an uber-athletic player from Columbia, was offered by Murray State on December 15. Tomlin had spectacular games this year that we highlighted earlier on Recruit Georgia. He is an explosive player, who routinely jukes defenders out of their shoes. On the defensive side of the ball Tomlin playes with great insticts which resulted in 9 interceptions this season. – FILM

Christina Aguayo reported that Houston Co. star-athlete Darion Anderson decommitted from UGA, as well. Anderson is a playmaker that can take it to the house anywhere on the field. He suffered injuries this season but is an elite kick returner. – RG Profile

Morgan County sophomore outside linebacker Quin Williams picked up another offer, this time from Charlotte. Mississippi State offered not too long ago and expect after NSD for his offer total to really climb.

Mike Allen’s recruitment just received a big shot in the arm. The 6’6″ 230-pound junior defensive end was offered by Alabama on Dec 14. He recently received offers from Colorado State and Kentucky.

jQswxcF0_400x400Glynn Academy senior offensive lineman Frank Ferrell received his first division 1 offer from Presbyterian College. The 6’2″ 240-pound lineman is quick off the snap and plays with a very wide base.

Class of 2017 William Nana was recognized for the Co-Offensive Lineman Award at his Columbus HS. Nana is a 6’1″ 285 junior who squats 430 and benches 330 pounds. – JR FILM

Marvin Kinsey was announced as Offensive Player of the Year in his region. Kinsey is an athletic slashing back from Riverwood HS who rushed for over thousand yards for the season. He is currently a Georgia Southern commit. 

A pair of players from Statesboro HS were offered by the University of Cumberlands on Dec 14th. Safety Samad Foster and running back Mahlon Williams are two sleepers that show a lot promise at the next level. Williams is a natural runner and has good power breaking tackles. Foster is a hard hitting safety that plays with reckless abandon.
