Welcome to another edition of the recruiting recap! I hope everyone is doing well, and I know it’s a little late, but here is all of the recruiting news that happened yesterday, plus I missed a commitment so adding that in as well.
Hope everyone is having a great time of the year and enjoying the holidays! It’s going to be a bit busier around here than usual with the season being pushed back two weeks but we’ll have our All-State teams ready immediately after the state title games. – David

Charis Spence
2021 ELCA
Dartmouth
Scoop: Spence was one of the state leaders in sack here in 2020. By our rough counting, he was a little over 15 sacks on the season and 20 tackles for loss. He showed some tremendous drive coming off the edge with quick hands at the point of attack. Heading into the season Spence was not on a lot of team’s radar but the strong season peaked academic programs, and Dartmouth came in with his first offer, then quickly secured a commitment of one of the emerging pass-rushers in this recruiting class. Spence is undersized at 6’1″ 200 lbs., but an explosive athlete with a 35″ vertical and an insatiable hunger to sack the quarterback.

Sleeper of the Day
Laurence Taylor
2021 Stockbridge
Taylor gets out of his stance fast and is quick to get off his blocks. He has really quick hands and a nice developing swim move that shows some legit upside considering his 6’4-5″ frame. Taylor is a baseball player and shows a keen eye on the field reading the play quickly and attacking the ball carrier in the backfield. He is very effective against the read-option. He’s very quick getting out his stance and shows the speed to hunt down the ball carrier. Taylor is a real sleeper in this class. He hasn’t put on the weight just yet but has some legit upside as a pass-rusher. Taylor is an instinctive player who reads the play quickly and has the athletic ability to play FBS football. To me, he is the biggest emerging recruit this fall and has some of the highest upside of anyone who doesn’t hold an offer yet, but is hearing from several DII programs at the moment so we expect his recruitment to get rolling soon.
