Sleeper of the Day

Jersharius Lawrence
2025 Decatur
Athlete

Over the last few seasons, no one has been a greater threat returning kicks than Decatur’s Jersharius Lawrence. The 2025 athlete has 1045 yards through 8 games and has made some electric plays during this campaign that illustrate his immense upside as a skill player. At 5’9″ and 170 lbs., he has really good ball skills and his consistency catch balls on special teams underscores his reliable hands. Lawrence’s versatility allows him to be lined up at receiver or running back.  He is excellent at reading his blocks in the open field, a moment early in his reel where he reads a crushing block, vaults over a defender, and is gone showcases that. But also, his ability to make tight cuts with a lot of congestion breaks open a lot of these big plays. This is a major component to his success on returning kicks, but also, Lawrence just shows good top-end speed. He accelerates quickly and can burn pursuit angles. Very good at timing his acceleration too, stopping and going with a nice stutter step which throws off defenders well. Lawrence is competing against a lot of skill players across college recruiting boards, but you would be hard-pressed to find an athlete with his level of production, especially on special teams along with the

Three ‘n Out

Macon County standout sophomore Jakeyveon Parker posted his most recent offers. The elite back has a slew of P4 programs after him like Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Miami, NC State, and several more. At 5’10” and 207 lbs., Parker has the physicality and speed that few in his recruiting class have demonstrated so far.

Kennesaw Mountain’s Christian Smith announced his commitment to South Florida live on Thursday via Score Atlanta’s Georgia HS Daily show on the Peachtree Network. Najeh Wilkins broke the story and posted a video during the exact moment the speedy edge rusher became a Bull.

What do college coaches need to see with Chris Cole Jr? The SR running back put up another great regular season for Brooks County and the figure to make a big push into the GHSA Class A Div II playoffs. Cole is explosive getting vertical upfield and has impressive top-end acceleration which has helped him accumulate 1500 yards and 15 touchdowns. Cole started off the school year in basic training, so didn’t even play his first game until Labor Day weekend. Great GPA with a 3.9; Cole just seems like the type of selfless player who can help shape your locker room.
