Sleeper of the Day

Lawson Koch
2025 Wesleyan
Offensive Tackle

Wesleyan has some jumbo athletes on the 2024 squad, and Lawson Koch is no exception. The senior stands 6’6″ and fluctuates around 250 lbs. Whether he lines up at OT or TE, the 2025 athlete uses his length well to get leverage on defenders and control the edge. With teams running jet sweeps and running guys in motion more than ever, having a big TE prospect who can control the edge will captivate college play callers. Koch has a 29″ vertical jump. That kind of raw athleticism at 6’6″ could translate well over to tight end. That said, we have evaluated and projected Koch to be an offensive tackle at the next level – senior film continues to support this projection too. He does an excellent job with his hand placement, allowing his length to get underneath the pads and just drive his legs through the block. Love his leg drive while blocking, Koch is a functional athlete who shows good body control while engaged. He needs to continue to sharpen up his footwork, especially while pass-blocking. He slides his feet well and has a good wide stance while in pass pro, but want to see those feet get organized faster. Koch has solid weight-lifting numbers and should be able to naturally pack on another 20-30 lbs. of muscle over the next 3-4 years. Couple that with a college nutrition program, and it seems like the Wesleyan senior should be around 290 in college.

Three ‘n Out

For the love of elevation! Landon Stancil goes flying in this early-season basketball clip. But wait RG, I thought you only talked about football? Great point and that brings me to my next one, the senior out of Strong Rock Christian is explosive with a reported 44.7″ vertical jump, which is flat-out elite. The 5’10” senior’s explosiveness off the bounce here is impressive, and immediately caught our eye. Move over to senior football film, and you see a versatile skill player with excellent body control, capable of taking on contact and keep his feet. Stancil plays four sports, has a great 4.1 GPA, and was a first-team All-State selection in the GIAA.

Lambert senior Jackson DeLoach was named to the All-Region team for the 3rd year in a row. The Lambert blocker has always impressed with textbook fundamentals and a gritty mindset that befits life in the trenches. DeLoach has been All-State HM twice on the website and will have a strong case to be first team come December when selections are made. He committed to Navy on June 29th and is a personal favorite blocker in this recruiting class.

“This is a big deal,” says On3 reporter Rusty Mansell. Julian Lewis, the 5-star QB and the state’s #1 prospect will visit Georgia this weekend for the upcoming Tennessee game. Whether that will impact the long time USC commits’ decision, we will have to wait and see. Lewis’ Carrollton squad is undefeated on the year and ranked the #1 team in Class 6A.
