Heritage’s defense really improved over the last year, and 2021 linebacker Zach Brown was certainly part of that development in 2019. He is strong, and though we are not a fan of arm tackles, it does demonstrate very good strength in how quickly he gets the ball carrier down. In fact, Brown gets the ball carrier down with authority. Will need to get lower on his tackle attempts though. Needs to work on getting leverage and scraping off blocks quicker. Had a D1 frame for sure, and I really like the hustle we are seeing from him on film. He consistently makes tackles all over the field, out to the sideline or in the tackle box, Brown is really all over the place for his team. At 6’3″ and 225 lbs. I really think colleges are sleeping on the 2021 linebacker here. Brown has been All-Region 2x and made our Honorable Mention Preseason All-State team to start of the 2020 season. He sports a 3.8 GPA and his lone offer comes from Birmingham Southern. He ended up with 113 tackles and 10 tackles for loss in 2019 – another uptick in production and it will be hard to ignore what the 2021 recruit has done during his high school career.
