The long 2025 edge defender has good closing speed, so Camden County often uses him to blitz off the edge or try to shoot the gaps. Austell is very physical at the point of attack, impressively so for a player weighing under 200 lbs. He plays well in space, using his size and length to shred through perimeter blocking for screen passes out to the flat. That will translate really well at the next level. These characteristics should create a lot of value for Austell. A long versatile defender who plays with a lot of physicality, but maybe his best attribute is the backside tackles he makes. Several negative plays are created through outright hustle, and those kinds of plays are drive killers. Austell is a well-coached defender, he plays with a lot of patience reading the play and is effective at reading the mesh off the edge. Makes consistently good reads in that respect. As of now, Austell is one of the bigger sleepers in the class of ’25; his skill set just translates so well to the next level. We just want to see the 2025 outside linebacker continue to fill out his frame and increase his productivity against passes out to the sideline.
