Darlington has several good OL on their team, and Dougherty does a nice job carving out space in the middle. He is quick out his stance, and gets pretty good leverage on his opponent. Pure strength though is where Dougherty excels, a lot of times the 2020 recruit blows the defender off the ball just being flat out stronger. Plays with a pretty solid base, is okay at getting on his toes and finishing his block. The 2020 recruit has above average fundamentals and that should help him see the field early at the next level. I would like to see him flatten out his back more when blocking. Pretty quick, above average acceleration to the 2nd level. Needs to make sure he doesn’t block too high and just rely on upper body strength. Interested if he can play center too.
