Coming out of his release, Trey Walker is one of the fastest guys in the state. He is at top speed in a few short strides and consistently finds himself outrunning defensive back coverage. Walker doesn’t rely on an elaborate change of direction or route running really for that matter, he is just fast. How fast? The senior has a reported 10.7 100m time and has been clocked in the low 4.3’s. That’s unbelievable, but turn back to film and you see Walker’s speed create problems for opposing defenses. The senior’s ability to take a short button route 10 yards downfield, and then pivot away from the pursuit, quickly sprinting upfield for a score. For the early part of the 2024 season, Walker has already done that several times. He does need to improve after the catch, and not go down so easily on contact, but we really like his direct running style. Walker eats up a lot of yardage and doesn’t mess around with pointless cutting. The Mill Creek senior is an FBS talent, so we feel like if everything lines up, then he should be a steal for a program looking for a true vertical speed threat.
