Barnett keeps his eyes open over the middle of the field and reads the play well. He is an effective MIKE considering his frame, and does a good job of filling the hole. Barnett is strong, he took the ball straight out of a ball carriers’ hands then returned it 55 yards down field. Tackling fundamentals are pretty good, he does a good job of moving laterally across the LOS and squaring up an attempt. Would like to see him drop his hips more though and not just go for the big hit so much. Has multiple strips on the year. Plays with a ton of intensity, really thrives on contact. Definitely one of the toughest linebackers in this class with a big motor too. Coverage is pretty good, he reads the pass and is mostly playing zone over the middle it seems – never mans up much. Just a good all-around team player, does a bunch of small things for his team.
