Jones has legit size, and when he is fully engaged into the play, there are some very good flashes. Jones had gained another 10 lbs. this last year. He needs to work on getting stronger at the point of attack, and pack a bigger punch with his hands. He does a decent job of pursuing the football, but want to see more urgency. Want to see more tackles from the backside in pursuit. Does have good raw strength – 305 bench press is legit. Had one play where he shoved the blocker back into the RB and blew up the entire play. Need more action like that. Also, would like to see him drive his legs more through the tackle. Jones will certainly continue to grow into this frame, and be around 270 at the next level. I would say there is a good shot he makes it to the All-Region team as a senior. He has the frame to be a good SDE at the next level.
