Ponder is another big offensive lineman up front for Etowah standing at 6’5″ 295 lbs. The 2025 offensive lineman is a good straight-up blocker who gets his hands inside the defender’s pads and drives them out. He shows solid body control while engaged, but needs to continue to work on flexibility and pad level in general. Ponder shows good aggression at the point of attack. He comes out of his stances with a purpose and seems inherently built for a run-blocking offense. As a pass blocker, he has a good bit of work to do. He needs to get better with his kick-step, sinking his hips and sliding his feet. He has pretty good hand placement and gets pretty good leverage while engaged. There is good upside and Ponder should attract attention from both D1 and D2 programs considering his frame and good academics. At around 6’5″, he carries himself well, and could honestly continue to add weight, which could lend him to sliding over to offensive guard at the next level. That seems like a better fit to be honest. As of now, Ponder is definitely under the radar, and given enough time in the weight room, he could be a high-reward prospect for a program.
