Adams is a big frame athlete who shows legit elusiveness out in space. He got some reps even at JV at QB, but on the varsity mostly line up in the slot running short-intermediate routes primarily down the middle. The 2020 athlete is a fluid runner, and continuing to fill out his frame will be key; he certainly shows some potential as an athlete when considering his listed 6’2″ in height. He needs work on his release (has weight shifted to his back leg) and route running needs cleaning up, but the the 2020 athlete has some legit upside.

Senior update: ehhh what do I know. Adams is currently one of the state leaders in passing, so those JV moments actually meant more than I expected. Just a little over halfway thru the season and Adams is close to 2000 yards already, and one of the state leaders in passing. Puts a nice trajectory on his pass and that is very catchable for his receiver. Good instincts moving in the pocket, anticipates the pass rush but keeps his eye up field when flushed out. Strong arm, can throw on his back foot with plenty of zip. Uniquely accurate while throwing on the run, especially to the weakside.
