McConnell shows flashes with his hands to get off blocks quickly and has good energy coming off the edge. He doesn’t over pursue the ball much and stays in his lane. Solid frame and already weighs 250 lbs. right now – should grow into a good defensive tackled at the next level. Has gone up against some very good OL this year and continued to produce each game. He needs to show more consistency and continue to get quicker with his hands getting off blocks. Like his upside in the interior, but do not see him getting too big either. His quickness is nice, and I think a lot of 3-4 teams will like him at DE too. McConnell is powerful at the point of attack and looks fluid changing directions – definitely a solid 2021 defensive linemen with good versatility.
