What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

Elite Knowledge of the game as well as good footwork in both pass protection and in the run game. Also, an extremely hard worker who will do anything for the success of the team. Has been selected for several all star games and ranked a top 10 offensive lineman in the state.

Purves has topped out to about 300 lbs. gaining about 50 lbs. over the last year. He plays RT for Walton, but we like him more at OG. He is a good blocker when going straight up. Has a pretty strong lower base, which allows him to anchor leverage on the defender. Feet are fine in terms of footwork for a high school offensive linemen, but goes back to our main point, he is an OG. Purves has pretty good hand placement, he blocks all the way through the play, but could get lower with his pad level to work on getting leverage. Need to see more at the point of attack, just doesn’t have enough power/hip flexibility at the moment. Needs to just improve his core strength in general, but solid frame and good enough fundamentals to get a strong level of interest from D1 programs. He’s put on a lot of weight over the last year, and I think the focus now should be trimming up and working getting quicker/more explosive.
