James had a solid sophomore season showing good hustle coming off the edge and junior year he took his game to another level playing linebacker. The 2020 recruit improved his flexibility, but is still of a straight line play who works best in crowded places where he can just shoot the gaps then meet the ball carrier with his good size. James plays well with his eyes on running plays, and made a fair amount of tackles for a defensive end as a sophomore, so him moving to linebacker was a welcomed addition to his recruiting resume. He has some solid potential, but needs to get stronger in the hips and become more fluid change directions. Looks like he can continue to grow to over 240 lbs, he holds his weight well, and I’m curious to where he will be a few years from now weight wise.
