Bird has been one of the most productive slot receivers in middle Georgia over the last few seasons. The 2024 wide receiver escapes upfield quickly. His ability to make defenders miss after the catch quickly stands out. Bird has a tremendous change of direction and abruptly makes cuts on a dime to throw defensive backs off his route. Bird is very good at releasing upfield with urgency. He is very fast off the line and is able to catch the secondary sleeping. Bird is relatively strong considering his smaller frame. We do believe the 2024 recruit can get to around 175-180 at the next level. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more productive slot in the class of ’24. Where we would like to see Bird improve is continuing to improve his route running in short to intermediate range. His speed is good, but his bread and butter at the next level will mostly be in the short game, which makes adding weight without losing any of his elusive characteristics imperative.
