What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

My stats and my film show that I’m not afraid of hitting people. I stay on top of my grades in class and I’m not afraid of hard work.

Jones was a big-hitting safety for Upson-Lee who accumulated 5 tackles for a loss despite playing a deep safety role. Upson-Lee had a stout defense in 2023 and the impactful tackles of Jones certainly set the tone. He does an excellent job of closing the difference between him and the ball carrier showing good patience and tackling technique in space. Jones is explosive when he hits and although he can launch a little too high at times, the impact is never withheld. Jones is solid in coverage but needs to continue to sharpen up his recognition and not let deeper routes go unchecked. At the next level, Jones looks to be a strong safety. He already weighs 210 lbs. and his instincts and adept pursuit angles are a clear path towards playing time in college, even if special teams early on. With a 6’2″ frame, you have to wonder whether Jones will continue to fill out and become an OLB even at this point. Senior year should be very interesting as Jones showed some real promise on jet sweeps and being the beneficiary of their run-heavy offense on play-action passes. You have to wonder if his offensive role will expanded upon in 2024 and I could honestly see option-heavy teams being interested in his impressive perimeter blocking at receiver. He gets consistently good leverage and does a nice job driving his legs thru.
