Mercer’s older brother was a very good OL at Crisp, but the 2021 recruit is an edge defender fro Crisp. He plays with intesnity, getting out his stance quickly and into the backfield. Good tackler, does a nice job of coming in low and driving the ball carrier back. Very quick athlete, gets right around some decent OL and into the backfield. Has created havoc this year. Plays with a ton of urgency and snuffs out plays before they can ever start. Does a good job of setting the edge. All energy, Mercer hustles from the backside with some huge tackles. Really impressed by Mercer, he doesn’t have prototypical height, but should continue to add go weight be over 260 in college.
