What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

My speed

Coaching staff is all about the 2022 recruit. They talk about his length, explosiveness and upside for the next level. A former coach at Mercer, now at Northside, even talked about him specifically to us. Thurman has some gas, and can get to the ball carrier quickly. He is able to knife through the defense and make a lot of tackles in the backfield. I definitely like how he tackles at the waist and drives his legs – he pretty consistent on film doing that. Thurman needs to gain weight though – the coaches say he weighs 200 lbs., but looks a lot closer to 180 to me. That’s sophomore film of course. Nothing to be found from his junior year yet. Definitely gets very low on his tackle attempts. Depending on how he has filled out, I think the offers could really start to pour through. Either way, he’s a fundamentally sound tackler with good speed – that’s going to get him college interest. Does look like he has filled out to be about 200 lbs. in his junior film, which is good to see, but there is not a ton of production right now, in fact his only highlight is against Peach Co. so maybe he got hurt? Film has been hit or miss this fall so far.
