What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

My drive and determination. I am very coachable and always give my best effort. I try to lead by example. I play very aggressively as you will see in my highlights and because of that drive and determination, I lettered as freshman playing RB, safety, and corner. Was the 4th leading rusher on varsity this year. I will grow and get even faster as I train every Sunday down in Atlanta with Justin Miller. Look forward to my sophomore year as my role will increase and my leadership role will increase as well.

Melnick played at safety this year in Jackson defense while also sporting an h-back role on offense. From watching his freshman film, we thought defense was his future and this year he has once again shown those abilities. First of the class of 2020 player is a fundamental tackler, and we saw him straight smash a 4 star athlete on a run play up the middle with a textbook tackle. He comes up with a lot of plays for his team. Melnick has a lot of intangibles just from watching his film. His pursuit angles are excellent, and he does a great job adjust to the play on the fly. Melnick gained some good weight over the last year and really showing an explosive nature to his tackling that we have not see in years prior. As mentioned earlier, Melnick was always a fundamentally sound athlete, and the added strength and physicality getting off blocks is impressive. South Carolina came in with a PWO this fall, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more FBS programs submit similar offers while he continues to garner interest from smaller D1’s too.
