What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

From Coach: Marquise transitioned from receiver to defensive back in 2017, and he excelled early and often before a deep bone contusion in his shoulder sidelined him for a few games late in the season. He is tall and physical and has great range; he also has a natural ability to find the football in the air. Marquise showed a great desire to improve, focusing heavily on film study and learning defensive schemes during the season and off-season. He has a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed. While he is still learning the intricacies of playing free safety, he has shown great potential. His size and athleticism suggest great success is in his near future.

Leach is a long athletic specimen moving across the field for Bradwell but he lacks the explosiveness currently to play at too high of a level. At 6’2″ he can really make a wide range of plays. He has good instincts sitting back at his FS spot and does a nice job of jumping the pass. Leach’s tackling is questionable, he dives at the ball carriers feet a lot. It’s interesting to look at his film and wonder if he can play OLB at the next level. His tackling would have to improve sure, and he will have to add more weight to his frame but long term that could be his best fit.
