Mays has good instincts reading the QB’s eyes and will break off his area in the zone to make a play on the ball. He matched up against some legit receivers who currently hold FBS offer last year, and looked very good in the process. He’s got a real knack at raking the ball out of the receiver’s hands. He is a solid 1 v 1 tackler who goes into each attempt with good acceleration. Senior year he continued to build on his play, making a lot of pass breakup but also looking a lot more physical tackling out in space. He made a few big pass breakups against the top WR in Georgia too. Mays could absolutely end up on an FBS squad as we near NSD.
