Coach Notes:

The total package at QB. Elite arm strength and arm talent. Can throw from several angles with accuracy. Lonnie is also a very strong runner and can be effective in the run game. He’s extremely smart both on and off the field.

Ratliff was drawing some hype going back to his freshman year where he was starter right away for Duluth. The 2022 quarterback followed up his sophomore year with 2716 passing yards through the air and ranked near the tops in the state in passing. The hype is real here for Ratliff, and he has grown a few inches since last year. Now into his senior year, and Ratliff is currently leading the state of Georgia in passing. Ratliff is under control in the pocket. He commands the offense and makes checks pre-snap. He is a good runner, and shows nice vision in the open field. Ratliff has pretty good footwork in the pocket and I like how he steps into his throws. He keeps his eyes downfield, and analyzes the defense pretty well. Needs to set his feet on some of these throws outside the pocket. Reads the defense pretty well and I like his timing with his throws a lot. Ratliff has very good location from intermediate range, he makes some really tough passes 30 or so yards down field where he threads the needle between zone defenders. He’s a smart player for sure, that stands out. Even when the play is meant to go one way, Ratliff makes the correct read, which explains his good numbers sophomore year. He is a solid runner, but needs to do it more often to really take the status of dual threat. There is a good bit of improvement he can do in the weight room, and that should really improve both his running and arm strength.
