What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

“I work hard in the weight room and in the classroom.
I care a lot about my teammates. I know a lot about the mental part of the game, and I'm still learning.”

Byrne comes from a very interesting situation. He split snaps this year with another top quality QB prospect but made the most of his opportunities the last two seasons. The 2017 recruit has been working on this throwing mechanics with a QB coach and you see the progression from JR to SR year. He throws a really nice deep ball and with plenty of zip. He has a really nice touch throwing down the middle of the field and has good size at 6’3″ to see the entire field, which he quickly diagnoses the D and checks down if need be.

After not playing QB for a month, he made the most of the three region games he started (70/103 for 867 yards and 13 passing TDs/1 rushing TD,) and lead his team to two wins that qualified them for the playoffs. He was named player of the week by the Tribune after the first win. He started TE and P and even played some CB but his primary position is QB. He was 1 of 4 captains all season. He also lettered in basketball and baseball (OF/P) last year.
