What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?
I think that my ability to read blocks and the way I hit the whole makes me stand out, as my coach say “I got a mean jump cut”, I also was southwest ga. Player of the week ones and in the news paper multiple times.
Whitfield rotated with a junior athlete for primary carries at running back for Monroe this year, but he did get most of the work load. I really like how he gets his cleats in the ground and makes hard cuts up field. He does a nice job of setting up runs utilizing his blocks. Great frame on his body, really impressive running stride keeping his pads forwards. The senior is a pretty big sleeper no doubt, showing excellent balance going through contact. He has solid speed, and just tough as nails bouncing off tackle attempts. Whitfield is built like a rock, and will truck over any player regardless of how many stars. Clear example was him trucking over Thomasville’s Charlie Thomas. Whitfield’s quick decision making right at the line of scrimmage sets up so many of his runs. There is a lot of short backs like Whitfield in Georgia but he has much better vision and balance than most of them.
