Ackles was a player for Mt. Zion last year as a junior making some huge hits on defense and special teams. The younger brother of an All-State player on our site just a few years ago, Lane has some good football instincts as well. He is physical, built like a little tank at 215 lbs. Ackles is the type of player when the lights come one, he steps up his game. Tackling is very sound, obvious strength and power make Ackles a very interesting recruit to follow his senior year. He can fill out a ton of roles on a team, and shows a good feel in coverage, getting pretty good depth and solid acceleration flowing to the ball carrier right he catches the football. I would like to see him really work on his lateral quickness and getting lighter with his feet. Self-motivated young man who will work hard for his team.
