Pounds has some impressive arm talent where he can naturally uncork a pass +50 yards downfield in a blink. The 2025 QB can just flat-out sling the football and has one of the livest arms in the state. Even on the run, he can put the ball on a line so receivers be ready. That said, Pounds does need to sharpen up his game. His arm slot consistently changes angles and even in the highlights the ball tends to be thrown too high when hitting his receivers on short to intermediate throws. He is flat-out a raw talent, but intrinsically has a lot more value than his recruitment would currently suggest. Options teams should love his upside though. With the arm strength to throw the football deep downfield on top of being an explosive runner with excellent change of direction, Pounds is the type of QB who can make quick reads and attack a defense. If he can continue to hone his skills in managing the game while sharpening up his fundamentals, then Pounds can be an impactful game-managing dual-threat passer. Given his 6’3″ frame, colleges are sure to be interested in Pounds just beyond playing QB, which that versatility creates additional value for sure.
