The few times that we have watched Ward through the years he has always stood out at as a linebacker, but when Lundy was out for half of the 2019 season Ward really stepped up his game as their primary back. Built very low to the ground, Ward does a great job of getting low with his pads and just runs straight through arm tackles. He is a stout young man, just watching him do work during the offseason and you can see the powerful athlete playing at the next level. He shows more wiggle than initially expected and has pretty fluid hips allowing him to change directions. Ward is deceptively fast hitting his top speed quickly. Ward is pretty elusive, but would like to see him work on running vision and seeing cutbacks with his perimeter blockers. Best attribute about Ward is his toughness, which is just hard to be met by many on the field. The longer you watch Ward’s film, the more you will end up liking how he plays the game.
