Scarbary has had prototypical size since we first saw his information back in 2021. At around 6’4″, the 2024 QB has slowly been filling out and is just under 200 lbs. going into his senior year. Last fall he was solid completing about 60% of his passes for 1800 yards and 30 touchdowns. More importantly, his team saw an uptick in success on the field and that is moving up a classification. Scarbary throws a nice ball where he does a nice job leading the receiver. He moves in the pocket fairly well, but would definitely like to see him get quicker with his drops. Scarbary has good poise stepping up and throwing the football right with the defender in his place, and in several cases getting as he throws; all while being accurate on his pass. Scarbary needs to work on his release point, as he has a tendency to drop low on deeper-thrown footballs. He’s definitely a pocket passer, but get Scarbary striding out and he can grab chunks of yardage rushing. I would like to see that improve going into next year and he takes his running to another level. Scarbary seems to make better throws as you continue to make it through his film. We like the zip on his passes, especially intermediate throws where he has a quicker release and drives the ball out with more velocity. We would like to see that kind of zip more on his deeper passes where the ball tends to hang up, at times. Scarbary will definitely grab the attention of colleges of his size and production, but we would like to see him take another jump senior year to solidify himself as a D1 prospect.
