Callen is coming over from Idaho, where he was considered one of the top athletes in the state. The 2025 athlete has shown out the track field season this spring running some impressive time splits. He’s a smart football player with a quick first step to the football. That kind of play recognition allows the speedy defensive back to break on the football and jump the pass. He makes some nice plays in the flat and does a pretty good job of tackling in space, but would like to see him settle into his attempt. He does a really good job getting around blocks and closing the gap between him and the ball carrier. He has light quick feet. Callen should jump into the fray at Carrollton and be an impact defensive back for the program. His speed is impressive for sure, and that alone should attract the attention of D1 programs. Some colleges will want to wait and see how he does in the GHSA, and I would expect to see his recruitment take off during the evaluation period and at the very latest, we suspect he will impress during camp season.
