Johnson is a stout defensive end who should end up at around 250 lbs. maybe even more actually. At only 6’2″, that a pretty wide frame to work with. What stands out right off the bat with Isler is how good he is getting off blocks. He plays with very good leverage, and has a quick swim move where he rips through the blocker and is in the backfield before you know it. If this was NCAA 14, then Isler would have over a 90 block shedding rate. He has a big time motor and really gets after the ball carrier. Double team and it doesn’t seem to matter, the 2021 defensive end looks to search and destroy. Isler could stand to get quicker out of his stance and continue to get stronger in the lower body – bigger backs can sometimes be tough for the 2021 recruit to get down, but also a problem of less concern over the next few years if he hits our predicted weight. Isler has a lot of varsity experience under his belt, and is definitely more advanced from a skill stand point then most in his class. Despite his shorter frame, I think the defensive end prospect will get a lot of FBS interest.
